Re: Floppy Drive doesn't do both formats, but does sometimes
It works if I have the UltraSatan switched on with no cards in it too.
There's a far weirder issue where trying to format a disk bricks it. I got it to do this this morning but can't remember the scenario. Will video that when I figure out what the deal is.

I think you need a ACSI/DMA port buffer or better a Atari 1040STE. STE has already a ACSI port buffer build in.

Is that a device which can be plugged in between the UltraSatan and Hard Disk port?frank.lukas wrote: 14 Apr 2021 17:47 I think you need a ACSI/DMA port buffer or better a Atari 1040STE. STE has already a ACSI port buffer build in.
I should also say, that this isn't a high priority for me personally since I mostly use EmuTOS anyway, it's just that I know it's an issue. Back when I was setting up my machine it caused me no end of confusion.

You remove the DMA chip (usually in a socket) and put a small PCB in the socket and then the DMA chip back on the PCB. A small little sandwich.Cosmic Puppet wrote: 14 Apr 2021 18:00Is that a device which can be plugged in between the UltraSatan and Hard Disk port?

Sorry just got the chimes, oh that is strange behaviour. Frank must be right I think. His STFM is 100% serviced with all mandatory fixes and Exxos PSU. I'll double check my records to see if the DMA chip was socketed or not.

I'm wondering if its that odd bug where the 1772 conflicts with the DMA.. changing the 1772 can solve it... But its a rare fault to have.Steve wrote: 14 Apr 2021 18:55 Sorry just got the chimes, oh that is strange behaviour. Frank must be right I think.
