For Sale: 27C400 EPROM emulators (beta) issue D
Re: For Sale: 27C400 EPROM emulators (beta) issue D
@cmorley , yes I tried it with your emulator as a test using USB2. My ultimate use is for a 3d printer in the other room using Simpilfy3D to drive the printer. Most likely give it a try today so we will see.
Re: For Sale: 27C400 EPROM emulators (beta) issue D
I just connected a 50ft cat6 ethernet cable between my mac and the eprom emulator and programmed and verified a 256k image. Worked without issue so it appears to work fine at 50 ft extension. Thats the max cable length I have here.cmorley wrote: Fri Mar 27, 2020 2:28 pm Good to know. I have a 5m USB3 extension here and I found that many of my USB peripherals (JTAG programmers and the like) refuse to work with it. Circa 5m is the limit for USB2 spec because of propogation delay IIRC.

Just as a raw wire extension or with active units each end?
Re: For Sale: 27C400 EPROM emulators (beta) issue D
@cmorley , from a USB2 hub to usb->Ethernet - 50 ft cat 6 - Ethernet -> usb -> your eprom emulator. Programmed and verified three unused 256k areas to tos 2.06. The usb to ethernet are active units.

What will the difference be between the current Beta units that are sold and a final version?
Thanks in advance for your work, I was looking for something like this.

Mostly just silkscreen. Pin 4 on the USB connector will become a second ground to make it compatible with PC motherboard USB header cables.
I am going to try to fit some more test points on too for production testing.

Could you send me 2 units with everything soldered except the USB headers?
And could you flash the newest firmware?
There's no rush, so if you want to add some more functionality to the firmware I would gladly wait a bit longer.
I would like to pay with PayPal and I live in NL.

Yes I can do that. The boards come fully assembled.
I don't plan firmware changes now, anything additional will be bug fixes or if someone comes up with a really neat idea. I don't have much code space left for features. Upgrading the firmware is easy by USB.

A chap on the Facebook Amiga group wanted more than I had left so I built up another 20 boards. I have 15 or so left if anyone wants to get in on this batch.
