I disabled the flash ram with a jumper and the acceleration works fine again, but even with just FASTRAM.PRG and NVDI in the auto folder no TT RAM is recognized.

I need to walk away from this for a bit as things just seem to be going off the rails.

There was a version of the flash tool with an additional delay posted, which is needed for some 29f800 chips. Are you using that one?

Sounds like maybe something did come loose during shipping, perhaps I had a bad solder connection on the cpld or ram. Let me know if you are equipped to check/fix the soldering, alternatively I can refund you.

Let me check the version of DFB1FLASH I linked to has the 8 second erase delay (8 seconds for an 1MB chip, 4s for a 512k chip -- this was something I missed early on).

It looks like it's correctly erased the chip (0xFFFF at the first address is a good sign of that), so it may just be that timing.

In terms of the TT-RAM, you don't have to enable it, so there are tests that can be done.

Get a copy of YAART-TT (have a look in the software essentials section of this forum) by our very own czeitz. You can press 'M' at the man menu for a hidden manual address mode. TT ram will start at 0x01000000 and end at 0x05000000 for the 64MB version.

Try to start small -- perhaps run a test from 0x01000000 to 0x02000000 (that's the first 16MB of the TT-RAM) and see if you get any errors?

Cheers,

BW.

@coonsgm @Fletch

Yep, sorry, I didn't get around to updating the GitHub repository with the extra delay version of DFBFLASH.

I've done this now. Try this one: https://github.com/dh219/DFB/blob/main/ ... bflash.ttp

Awesome!! I'll try that out. I'm not having any issues myself with the fastram, just with flashing the ROM. I'll let you know shortly!

It's really a great accelerator. Thank you again!

The modified DFBFlash tool worked like a charm! I'm now rocking EMUTOS.

Great!

Thanks for testing that out.

One day I'll get around to setting up bank switching on those larger Flash ROMs so you can have two OSs flashed, but I don't have one myself so will need a tester or two :)

Good news: The updated flash tool worked and I was able to install the modified TOS 4.04.

Not good news: The TT-RAM seems like a no go. I tried testing with Yaart and it was error after error.
