Well, that was "fun" (for certain values of "fun").

I tried to connect the SPARCstation 2 to my Linux server via NFS but it wouldn't play.

It turns out that by default "modern" version of the Linux kernel have NFSv2 and NFS over UDP disabled by default. They have NFSv3 turned on but that's a bit pointless if you don't have the UDP transport.

So, after downloading (because the source Mageia install isn't actually buildable using a normal kernel build process) the 6.6.93 source I was able to add the NFSv2 and UDP stuff and rebuild... Which took ages.

Anyway, I was then able to mount a disk and copy over a minimal /usr/local with 14MB to spare on the partition.

So, this:

has become this:

I could do with finding a couple of screws for the case but it's otherwise operational.

Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Today I saw IT were sending off loads of PC's for recycling, amongst the generic Dell/HP towers I saw 2 Sun towers.
It was like a car crash, I had the urge to look, but knew it could be painful seeing what gems might be being scrapped.

New video on replacing the battery on a Dallas clock chip... Might be useful for Falcon owners if they don't want to use the Exxos replacement.

P.S. For some reason Final Cut Pro has added echo in parts of the middle of the video, which aren't in the original clips. :-/
