Nice progress since the beginning of this journey.

Well done !

As promised, here are my settings for ADF disks:

Just tried to write Workbench32.adf and it went smooth as usual.

My GW is the last revision one (4.1) and the 3.5" FDD is a Y-E DATA 702D-6238D/D33253 (720 KB, 1.2 MB and 1.44 MB).

Hope this helps you.

;)
Thanks for that. I tried this morning and used your settings with FMFF. I eventually got it to write to disk, but the disk wouldn't boot. I also had to try about 5 different drives and 2 cables. Ho hum...

Not sure if I need some decent floppies or if there is something else fundamentally wrong. I'll try again when I have a bit more time, but thanks for the settings.

One of the CF cards I ordered, a 2GB one, arrived today and works perfectly with the Amiga.

I have a 4GB one that should be here tomorrow, if all goes well with that I'll stick with it, otherwise I'll use the 2GB card.

I use standard 1.44MB floppies with the hole sealed with tape.

Me too. And I have one or two 720kb disks. But they have been kicking around for some time and I don't know how good they are.

I had issues with old floppies in my Atari STE, so it might be a clue.

Another reason to upgrade to Gotek.

I get that.

New keyboard membrane and 4GB CF card arrived today, I'll get them looked at tomorrow :)

I bought 15 disks from floppydiskworld on ebay last week for about £10. I had to format a few of them twice for some reason but in the end only one was bad. They were Atari branded too - German language disks/Speedo etc.

I'll probably never use them all but it's good to have a few lying around.

Thanks, I'll have a look. The trouble is with mine is that whilst I have a lot of them, they are mostly original software that I don't want to re-use. I have a few untouched anti virus software disks that I need to try but just haven't got round to it yet.

If I can get my Greaseweazel sorted properly then I can probably just archive stuff and re-use some disks. I need to verify my actual floppy drives too.

I'll probably just continue with my Gotek plans long term.
