@exxos no worries, just let me know what you need and when. Its not worth just changing the ram any longer then?
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

Is it something useful for me to do in helping you? If not I'll leave it as is for now.

It would be useful to know if it does help... If it makes no difference then the brand of RAM my not ultimately matter...PhilC wrote: 18 Mar 2025 13:10 Is it something useful for me to do in helping you? If not I'll leave it as is for now.

Re: ST536 STE EDITION
@exxos I changed it to some Micron ram that I have but its not made any difference. Emutos doesn't detect more than 4mb and the TT ram test on 2.06 is still. broken.
Is it worth trying this with the ST536 firmware?

That was fast... Yeah the RAM controller is totally FUBAR then :(PhilC wrote: 18 Mar 2025 14:12 @exxos I changed it to some Micron ram that I have but its not made any difference. Emutos doesn't detect more than 4mb and the TT ram test on 2.06 is still. broken.
You could... That has slightly different timings... But I'm not sure it will boot up on the STE, (ROM speed issues) You need a 55ns ROM in the STE536 for that. But even then it may not work still..Is it worth trying this with the ST536 firmware?

Re: ST536 STE EDITION
@exxos yes I've got a 55ns rom in it from my ST536 as I bought a few more rather than mess with those slow Hitachi ones.
Edit: Just noticed, the ram buffers are VHC245 and the IDE buffers HT245, aren't these the wrong way round? I thought we needed KS245s for the RAM?
