For all their faults the Ferguson TX90 chassis TVs are quite bullet proof. They were made with them being used in hotel rooms in mind so were easy to maintain and rugged.

This one twitches slightly, suggesting that the caps are a bit tired and the transformer hums a lot more than it did but it's otherwise fine.

This variant has not only RF input but TTL-RGB and composite video.

I was going to mention the TV.
We had 2 and they lasted ages. Pretty sure we got one of them 'free' when dad bought a Ferguson VHS-C video camera.
Grandparents also had a white on.
Probably bought 1st one close to 1984 when we got the Spectrum+.

In the mid 90s I remember returning home from either a college disco or drinks out, and in a drunken state decided to push all the buttons in at once with the edge of my hand. :o
I then had a next morning challenge of taking it apart to try and release the buttons!

A household item that gives me many memories

I cleared the workbench of the Spectrum+ and plus/4 this evening and re-set-up the ST with switchable CPU sockets for some PiStorm testing given that there have been some major changes to the Atari firmware (to use the ST's clock).

Tested the machine with the TF536 and all fine so installed the PiStorm and Pi4... but misplaced the Pi4 by one row on the GPIO and quickly switched off when I noticed... This may shadow something later...

Tried the new firmware and ran the ataritest memory test... huge number of errors.

Swapped back to the firmware which had been mostly working in May and ran the same tests, which used to mostly work... huge number of errors!

Oh dear... have I killed the CPLD or flip-flops?

Ran the latest ataritest --hardware. This warned that it would error on the 'A' version of the chips, which it did as the Exxos PiStorm used the 'A' variant. No idea what the difference between the 'A' and non-'A' versions are. Maybe timings.

I may give up on this as I don't see it working.

Yeah, one less thing...

The next is the Schroedinger redundancy situation. We still don't know if it's going ahead or not and if it does we're most likely out the door a week Thursday.

Still, with the house money coming I don't have any financial worries.
