If the OLED screen doesn’t appear to work and if you are sure about the OLED wire connections, try to reset the Gotek : Shutdown the machine, press the Gotek’s right button, switch on the machine and keep the button pressed during ~5 seconds. This will clear the internals settings and force the long screen detection process. Some OLED screens with factory defects need this to be detected properly the first time.
Thanks. I still am a little suspicious of the screen and will give this a go when I can, but I'm running Flashfloppy rather than HxC on this one, so don't know it has the same long-right-button reset, but it does have a display probe time setting for the FF.CFG I could fiddle with.

Ive seemingly been able to fix this on my STE by swapping the little oled screen for another one.
Im not sure why because it worked fine in my megas but not in my STE.
Now with new screen seems fine... weird indeed!
Just thought it might be of interest Badwolf as i know you had a similiar issue.
