Yeah I don't see any good method of doing it. Even a board which solders on top of the CPU is a problem because the vme connector is in the way of soldering the back of the CPU.The BLITTER patch can be a problem also. Similar problem with STFMs as the resistor packs are in the way. It can't plug into the MMU socket because of ram upgrades. The only other option is to use a flex PCB which is thin enough to solder on the bottom of the PCB. Not simple either. It could be done as a patch board but that's messy and involving wires and I don't have the time to figure out where to solder stuff on every motherboard style.So unless anyone has any better ideas.. removing the CPU ends up being one of the most simplest universal solutions.
