Something else which doesn't make sense is, what is roms.zip supposed to be ? There does not seem to be any mention of it anywhere else

Code: Select all

Setup file structure

From the pistorm-atari directory, perform the following commands

mkdir ../roms
mkdir ../dkimages
mkdir ../configs
mkdir ../screendumps
cp configs/atari.cfg ../configs
cp roms/roms.zip ../roms/
cd ../roms
unzip roms.zip
cd ../pistorm-atari
EDIT:L

OK found it here https://github.com/gotaproblem/pistorm- ... /main/roms

To write any image to the SD card, simply use the Raspberry Pi Imager
After clicking the button to select the OS, scroll down to the last entry „Use custom“ and select the image from you hard disk

Yet just found that. Actually no idea how to copy the file to the SD card unless I can FTP in or something.

EDIT:
OK my PC can read it anyway, so no problem.

Didn’t you clone the GitHub to you pi anyway?
Then it’s already there…

I think something or someone has got confused..

Those directories are actually in a pistorm-atari dir.. I don't if if they supposed to be there as the instructions seem to want to default to whatever home is..

I think I see the problem that I had actually reset the Pi at some point, so its lost the previous step of what folder its supposed to be in

@exxos I gave you a guide on wpa_supplicant earlier on... time to take your vitamins Chris!

Here's a slightly better guide: https://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2017/ ... cant-conf/

Just obviously do 'country=gb' and change any other settings to match you setup.

Also: The reason I've gone to the trouble of making a copy of my SD card and uploading it, is because the Pistorm Github is very much 'in flux'. It has changed 900 times since we got my H5 build up and running. The firmwares are all different now. They've had multitudes of tweaks for various STe platforms and as far as I know, it might not work 'out of the box' on the H5.

My SD card has a H5 setup configured perfectly, with a H5 tuned firmware all ready. It also auto-starts the emulator on boot. It also loads the Gemdos paritions and shares them over SMB... none of this is automatic. It's all manual. It also has fully configured TOS paritions and apps pre-loaded. I honestly don't think you understand how much work you're gonna have to do. (I don't want to put you off! Don't get me wrong!)

And writing an SD card image? You're on Linux man, you have access to thousands of apps that can do it for you. I simple use gnome 'Disks'. You can also get Rufus and other random things.

I basically just wanted you to get a good experience out of the box. At this rate you of course can follow the guides and do everything manually. But any issues you encounter you'll need help from @dad664npc on Discord to guide you through troubleshooting processes - and basically I wanted to save both you and him all that hassle! :D I know for a fact 1. you hate discord, so how's that gonna happen and 2. Cryptodad is inactive at the moment as far as I know.

@Steve I'm trying to use your image but its not having it...

Capture.PNG

Its a 32GB card, but maybe your SD card is a tiny bit larger than the ones I have. Dunno.

Looks like these 32GB are a bit short, but no great surprise really.
