While I have a SCART lead for my CPC6128, I have also a VGA adapter so I can connect my machine to a modern monitor:

Felt a little better this morning, so did some odds and sods. Found a suitable D-LINK 5v/2.5a DC PSU in my big box of PSU's and hooked it up to the CPC:

Lovely, no interference, it gets the job.

I have been trying to by the DDI-1 & FD-1 for a while now so I can connect a gotek to a CPC464 but they are always way too much money. Especially as I already have a 6128+ with a Gotek and a C4CPC

They did make a DDI-1 clone for a while in 2014 but I never bought one.

There's the DDI5 unit, which is max-RAM plus virtual floppy interface using images on an SD card. This is available via SellMyRetro.

The DDI-1 is a bit of a pain with a Gotek as it's powered by the floppy drive itself and the drive connectors are back-to-front to try to prevent you from using "standard" floppy drives with the unit. The first of those issues can be fixed by adding a diode between the 5V connector on the DDI-1 interface and the rest of the logic so that the CPC can power the ROM etc. The second requires carfully cutting the orientation lugs off the connectors and writing on the cable which way around the cables go.

TBH I think it is likely I'll go for something like a Dadanator, I just don't have room for too many disk drives, and most of my storage is SD card these days.
