ACSI2STM problems

It sees the card, but the current firmware does not support a built-in ACSI driver, instead, it has a Gemdrive driver. Both boot jumpers need to be set to 0 position, to run Gemdrive mode.

I can test it @BrettRogersUK but as previously, I'd expect you to cover postage both ways. I have multiple STs I can test on.

Thanks @rubber_jonnie for that I will keep that in mind. I'm gonna send it to my dad first to see if it works on his STE. If it doesn't there is something wrong somewhere with my build I guess but I dont' know where it could be as I followed all pinouts etc to the letter.

I have reflowed the solder joints on the connector and the 74LS245 and 74LS244 as well all to no avail. You see, I've NEVER had anything on this port before, this the first time I've used it (or shall I say tried to use it).

It's just frustrating to say the least. I can't think of anything else to try. I'm all out of ideas.

Hi All,

I've just posted an issue on the official github repo for this project (https://github.com/retro16/acsi2stm/) to see if they can shed any light on it or to give me any advice on what I can try.

I'll keep you updated with what, if any, information they can pass on.

Well, let me know if you want me to test, it's not an issue. I have to try and verify my own BlueSCSI devices that seem to work, and appear fine with my A5000, but don't work correctly with my Mac Classic, and they really should...

I can see, that you are using a micro-SD breakout board, with a TTL-level converter. This converter is not needed here, as both the SD card and BluePill are using 3.3V logic.

I'm wanting to keep an eye on the serial monitor for any messages etc that appear. That's why I'm using the FTDI device. It's the only way I've got of looking at the serial monitor while using the device.

Well the saga of this ACSI2STM just got a little more WEIRD!

I sent the device to my dad who has a STOCK 1040STe. No upgrades or anything done to it. He plugged it in and guess what? It did exactly the same thing as what it did on mine here.

I made another device so that I could continue my tests while my original device was on it's way to my dad.

Now surely I can't be that unlucky to have two faulty Atari's and I surely can't be that out of my mind that I would produce the same fault on both of my ACSI2STM builds. @Badwolf I even followed your YouTube video on construction of the board.

I've even got me some 3.3v SD Card boards to try and powered up via 3.3v for everything and still nothing. It's seeing the SD Card but not a lot else. I've tried formatting the SD Card as FAT32/FAT16, I've tried imaging a hard drive image to my SD Card using raspberry pi imager and I've even tried formatting the card to FAT32, making the acsi2stm directory and placing the hd image in the directoyr and renamed to hd0.img.

So where do I go from here? I haven't a clue where to go from here. I've still got an open issue on the github page but rapidly running out of things to try.

So does anyone else know what else I can try. As per @rubber_jonnie the port was tested when the board had the repair a year and half ago and it worked as far as he could test it.

So things I have done so far:

Checked and double checked wiring on my ACSI2STM device(s).
Metered out all the connections for shorts and continuity.
I've had my digital oscilloscope on the CS, A1 and IRQ pins of port (Not sure I did this correct though, been ages since I had to use my oscilloscope I've practically forgotten how to use it) - This could do with rechecking. For anyone with the same OSC it's a Hamantek DOS1102 (entry level scope).
I have tried different versions of the firmware and none of them seem to work.

If anyone has any suggestions I would welcome anything.
