I have replaced my sd card adapter, which had a 5v to 3.3v reg plus transceiver chip, with a 3.3v part. Now attaining 1.15 MB/s with the SPI clock at 37MHz. The sd cards I have will run at 41MHz, but not 50MHz. So I will play with clocks to gain a little more performance

Frankly, that performance is exceptional already, in my book.

I think the Falcon's IDE is only about 1MB/s.

Are there many people who moan about ASCI speeds when the alternative is floppy?

Depends on a disk driver and the disk itself ( cf, SD or plates one). My best result was 3.2MB/s with Hushi IIRC.

And the CPU accelerator can significantly improve IDE performace.

Two SD cards now work and can perform a copy disk between the two via the integrated shell command 'cpdisk' :D

I agree with BW, that was exceptional speed. I think most other ACSI emulators max out at around 950k/s!

I see the github repo for the board schematics above which is great.

Can the gerbers for the board shown above be released? I would like to have some printed and built to test with.

Thanks!
