A bit late to the game but here's some good advice on desoldering through hole ICs:



I removed the cartridge port of my donor board last week, took some time but the result was pretty OK with a desoldering station and hot air gun. Remember that the hot air gun might not heat up unless removed from the station.

I'll start my own H5C1 thread once I have some more parts and spare time.

Confirmed that trudie is indeed a tos decoder i won't need any of this unless i need to accelerate something, which i do plan on in the future.

where does the brown wire goto ?

@alienkidmj12 - the brown wire in the pictures referenced is the HDINT line which goes to the ACSI pin 10. The best place to pick it up from is one of the ACSI headers.

Yes

You will also need:
32,768KHz crystal (2x6mm or something similar)
smt coin cell holder CR1220
CR1220 battery

Cart port and ext drive connector fitted. Some extra pins fitted for dma.

Still awaiting midi ports, mc68b50 ic, mfp 68901 ic.

Don't forget that you need to bridge the two middle holes underneath the right 3.3V BUS socket. The socket is covering it at the moment so I suggest to do it from the bottom side with a small wire or solder blob.

Just in case you forgot before you power it up for the first time. ;)
