Yes, so did I...but I booked it via the government website...I think my cousin was contacted by his GP for the first jab...and nothing since then.

Yep, we booked ours via the government website too. Annoyingly my GPs kept texting me about my appointments despite phoning me ane me telling them my jabs were booked.

Very inefficient that they couldn't tell my status and were sending wasteful messages.

I booked mine via GP also and haven't been given a date for my 2nd jab yet. It's only been around 5 weeks though.

Seems like the govt website is the way to go!

This may be the first time in history that statement has been true.

It depends upon the GP surgery. My one offered me a jab the day after I'd booked the national service, so I could have got it at least a week sooner with them. Also, last week I got a text from the surgery saying that if I'd had a jab from them they'd be contacting me soon as they were starting to roll out 8 week second jabs and the national service should be doing so, but nothing from the national service so it's still on for the 12th June.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

My second is on the 13th...3 days earlier than the original date.

I rang 119 to get an earlier date (and if I'd been prepared to drive an hour each way to get a jab, I could have had the second jab already...but instead I can get it a bit later but with only a 15 minute drive).

I'll use the excuse of "saving the planet" rather than being lazy! ;)

So the usual lottery then. We kept checking the govt site and booked as soon as we were allowed. The GPs didn't contact us until after we'd booked online, and were unable to offer anything better.

The most local vaccination centres couldn't offer anything for 6 weeks, which was ridiculous, so we opted to travel the 30 miles to a non local vaccination centres (In the same county and general postcode) for our first, knowing that by the time our 2nd was due, we'd have moved into the area, which we did, and had our 2nd jabs locally at the same venues as our first.

There is lots of discrepancy though, my parents up near Liverpool had 2 nurses come to their home to do both jabs, but my in laws who are also in their 80s had to go to a vaccination centre.

Yeah, my Dad in Cornwall had the GP drive around and caught him in the garden for the first one. When I went for mine he couldn't remember when his second was going to be so phoned the surgery and they asked him to go in then and there to get his second.

It is definitely very diverse. Being a fan of consistency I'm not sure I like the different approaches across the country.

Theoretically I should have had my 1st jab before my brother who's 9 years older, on account of being diabetic. He got his first by 3 weeks by virtue of his location 200 miles away.

I know there a lot of factors at play, and I wasn't angry, just frustrated that I was told one thing, but because of the regional differences it didn't happen. In fact a lot of friends younger than me in the same region were ahead of me, so even local differences seem to be at play.
