There is no information to summarize 2-3 years worth of work. But I did start this page, but far from finished.

Nice one. I am interested but since my soldering skills are poor I must ask. What is missing from the board when it comes? Is it just the PCB or something like that is delivered?

And if something like that is delivered, then is there anything that needs soldering or is everything else just plug and play?

I would attempt to add a couple of PCI as well, there are numerous accessories one can add using PCI and the board would benefit a lot from that. My 2 cents.

It comes with the bulk of SMT parts. All through-hole and connectors etc need soldering yourself.

No room on the PCB.. plus who is going to write drivers ? nobody of course.

Ahh, too bad. Looks like it is not for me. Not at least until it comes almost ready with only the plug-in components missing like CPU, RAM etc.

As for the PCI, if you are talking about the bus, you have a fair point there although I think that there was a PCI add-on for the ST series, meaning that the drivers could be used but I can't speak for something I am not doing. If you mean drivers for the add-ons, I would guess that whoever offers an accessory, would create the drivers, like e.g. the Nova drivers etc.

I'm not going to lie, there is a lot of soldering involved. It is not plug'n'play. Far from it. Not difficult if you calmly take your time soldering. Most of the surface mount stuff is already soldered in. The small bits like decoupling capacitors and resistors array and stuff like that. Also the buffers.

The main part is all the stuff that comes from a donor Atari main board. All that stuff is thru hole. Some of that stuff can be bought. Most people buy a old ST(f,m) and slaughter/desolder it for all the parts missing from H5.

Maybe this is not for you then.

As exxos forum is a more technical based forum, people can build these things themselves and it helps drive the project forward for future alliterations.

There will be built tested boards at some point, though they are not going to be cheap, but of course a doner machine for the main chips is still likely going to be needed. But as they are "mostly" socketed, then it should be easy to do.

I figured that, I only have STEs but I would gladly buy and STFM and try out.

I am technical but not on the soldering arena, yet. My first attempt will be with the STE booster.

Be careful there. That's not exactly a novice project either. Removing the factory CPU socket is a pretty involved process.
