Re: Icky Projects
Is the keyboard retro?
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Nope, the retro item is musical.

Re: Icky Projects
Hmm... The picture is too small for my old eyes to pick out any detail, but it looks like, at a guess, a Yamaha XG-xx synth module on top of possibly an old late 70's graphic equalizer...?Icky wrote: Sun Feb 05, 2023 4:58 pm There is a bit of retro present in that pic if anyone can spot it.![]()

That's what I said... the keyboard... not computer keyboard.

Re: Icky Projects
@mrbombermillzy was close. The unit on top in the rack is a Roland Sound Canvas SC-88
Re: Icky Projects
Though it was a Sound Canvas...couldn't tell which one from the picture though. I've got an SC55 as well as an SC88 VL (the latter came with a Roland MIDI keyboard & the virtual Sound Canvas s/w to IIRC)Icky wrote: Sun Feb 05, 2023 6:54 pm @mrbombermillzy was close. That one is actually the VL version as well @JezC.JezC wrote: Sun Feb 05, 2023 8:45 pm Though it was a Sound Canvas...couldn't tell which one from the picture though. I've got an SC55 as well as an SC88 VL (the latter came with a Roland MIDI keyboard & the virtual Sound Canvas s/w to IIRC)

@mrbombermillzy, not a graphics equaliser but a Mic / Instrument pre-amp MIDI box. It's a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20.

Well I was pretty far off that one.Icky wrote: Mon Feb 06, 2023 11:04 am @mrbombermillzy, not a graphics equaliser but a Mic / Instrument pre-amp MIDI box. It's a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20.
It looks like a very nice unit though, once I looked it up.
I hope that laptops DACs are going to do it justice (unless its using a digital out of course).
Re: Icky Projects
Mine's still packed away in its original box ATM... making do with the SC55, MU50, FB01 expanders plus DX7s, M1, 01R/W keyboards for now
Re: Icky Projects
Shame on you both @PhilC and @rubber_jonnie. Between the two of you I have ended up with a Z88 from @PhilC. @rubber_jonnie, your compulsion and threads of your latest purchases sparked all this.
