Thanks Paul, I'll move that and retry it with the rom in the H4 socket.

Its amusing, buy 3m sockets and it dont work :lol:

Phil, just put the rom in the IDE board socket?

Nothing looks out of place... is your sip in with common pin toward IDE connector?

@PaulJ yes it is.

One thing, can someone confirm if I am right. Ceramic caps with two digits only are in picofarads? The two I have used are 33 and 50.

@PhilC , Don't know if that's a valid assertion, if you have a newer meeter it usually has a capacitance setting. Hows it going finding the fault?

Isn't it usual that the last digit is the scale factor? i.e. a 0 at the end denotes picofarad, a 1 would be x10, a 2 would be x100 etc.? So the 33 would be 3000 pF and the 50 5 pF.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

I think that's just for 3 digit caps and not 2. I did google it and it was a bit inconclusive.

I'll measure them with one of my meters tomorrow and check it out anyway. Will feedback results here.

@PaulJ had no time tonight in the end. Hope to do a bit tomorrow though.

The 2 number caps are normally in pF. The ones I got here are stamped 50 and are 50pf. 3 digit would be 500. 50 + 0 zeroes. Which would make 501 50 + 1 zero which would be 500pf.
