Well that was one of my fastest fixes ever.

It was the caps and as soon as I replaced them, the TV sprang back into life :)

The caps are 1000uF 16v and measured off the board are about 1uF, so definitely bad.

One of my quickest I think.

The TV had power and a standby light but wouldn't turn on, so I went straight for the PSU.

The repair took less time than to disassemble and reassemble the TV. It was helped by a quite simple internal design where everything was cleanly laid out and the PSU was very easy to access once the display panel was out.

On a side note, I checked the caps and they average out at 1k resistance as well as the ultra low capacitance.

Also, my tester detected them as resistors instead of capacitors 🤣

And it happily read a 27C256 :)

I've yet to try programming, but I expect it'll be just fine :)

I don't s'pose that you have the Windows 3.1 driver for the Dotch PC graphics card? Adrian Black is looking for that as it's not available anywhere on the Internet and the card isn't compatible with the generic drivers for the chipset.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Yes, I saw his video. I have a complete install of Win 3.11 on mine, but that predates my ownership of the machine so I don't know if it is in there or not, though I haven't looked. I'll have a look later.

On a positive note the ROM programmer works great, at least for reading and writing 27C256's :)

I just fired it up and had a look, it seems to be just running a generic VGA driver in Win 3.1.1. Not 100% sure what my card is but get this at boot:

Though mine a a 486 Vesa Local Bus machine, so not even the same as his original spec, which was a Pentium IIRC, mine is much older. Might see what I can find for mine though.
