My wiki test server is offline now. I moved all the contented over to exxoshost last night. No use in doing it again for the odd tweak on the test server etc.
I'm away for a few days now, so will start verifying it all works next week, then we go live!

Re: The resurrection of atari-wiki.com
I am delighted to announce that, after months of dedicated effort, the Atari wiki is now operational! The journey to this point has been far from straightforward, as the original wiki was plagued with millions of spam pages and users. These nuisances were painstakingly removed using custom SQL scripts.
Numerous challenges were encountered along the way, such as pages causing crashes in later versions of the wiki software, requiring diligent fixes. Additionally, a significant number of missing files had to be identified and rectified. Complicating matters further, the wiki is two decades old, and many associated websites have long vanished. I've done my best to patch up these gaps using the Wayback Machine.
In addition to addressing existing issues, I've incorporated fresh content and links. Nevertheless, my knowledge isn't exhaustive, and the community's involvement is crucial for keeping the content current. Given the dynamic nature of the Atari community, the wiki will perpetually be a "work in progress" and may never be considered truly complete. Despite this, I've officially launched the wiki and it is now available for use.
To maintain the integrity of the platform, anyone wishing to update content must register for an account. All pages are currently subject to moderation to prevent a recurrence of spam-related challenges. The collaborative effort of the community is essential to the ongoing success and accuracy of the Atari wiki.

Fantastic achievement, @exxos! This will mean a lot to the community.
It looks like registering for an account isn't available at the moment (the "create account" link is not there) so I will check back in again soon to make an account.

Re: The resurrection of atari-wiki.com
Seems we already being hit with spam
I mean how many minutes was the create account link live... It's a good job there is email verification and moderation queue otherwise if I had not have noticed we would be getting into a right mess again. I did not expect the bots to get past the email verification but it seems that just isn't enough :(
So if anyone wants to register for an account do so immediately because I'm just going to have to remove the link until I have more time to figure out how to stop spammers from registering.
A temporary solution might have to be that people request an account be created manually. It's not like there is going to be hundreds of people wanting to upload content. So it is probably just going to be easier than having a never-ending battle with spammers.

Adding Captcha is not an option ? Not sure how effective it is, but it seems to be the norm nowadays.
