They're the same thing. The 4 is just a 2 with double sided disk drives.
There's later 2/83 ad 4/83 types with the CPU running at 5MHz rather than 2.5MHz.
I've been doing my homework. :-)

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

A Z80 running at 5Mhz is a thing of beauty 😁stephen_usher wrote: 11 Feb 2024 22:32 They're the same thing. The 4 is just a 2 with double sided disk drives.

Re: General Stuff(tm)
Especially without the need for wait states due to screen access.
Anyway, this evening I've been getting on with some model railway stuff. I've been working on the first bit of station platform: foam board core with 3D printed walls and coping stones. Eventually the "asphalt" will be simulated using tile grout painted grey.
The coping stones aren't yet stuck down.

Hehe. OK.
This is what it looked like when I'd (almost) finished laying the track last July.

Re: General Stuff(tm)
More model railway station platform building tonight.
Popped out to B&Q to get some charcoal coloured tile grout, which will become the asphalt, and then stuck the coping stones down.
Designed and printed some central concrete drains. Sprayed a number of them up so I can stick those down tomorrow night. I can then try out the grout.
