Re: Raspberry PI PICO ATARI ST Hard Drive Emulator (WIP)
I got number 0004!
While using an STe, unfortunately when I try to write anything to the disk I get this error. GEMBench, Frontbench will all happily load at least.
H5 with tf536 doesn't seem to want to work with it...

Can you post an image of your motherboard.DaveC wrote: 16 Jun 2023 12:00 While using an STe, unfortunately when I try to write anything to the disk I get this error. GEMBench, Frontbench will all happily load at least.
IIRC the TF536 only works with IDE ?, it's basically a unsupported branch.
I didn't have any issues with the H5, have you tried without the TF536 ?

@exxos I can confirm ACSI will not work with a TF536, same for Ultra satan etc
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

Weird because my icd adscsi board and a piscsi worked fine with my tf536.
Anyway my motherboard is the same as this one viewtopic.php?p=17653#p17653
(My phone is now complaining I need to charge it before it'll take a photo)

It's more to see exactly what chips you have in your board like the what CPU etc. So a stock image does not really help. If you have not got the HC CPU then you're going to have the classic DMA problems anyway.DaveC wrote: 16 Jun 2023 12:58 Anyway my motherboard is the same as this one viewtopic.php?p=17653#p17653

It doesn't have a bad dma, I have another board that does. I can still test with an HC CPU.

Re: Raspberry PI PICO ATARI ST Hard Drive Emulator (WIP)
I haven't specifically tested the "good DMA" yet. Did not really expect many people to even have one. So you may be better trying a -38 with a HC CPU initially.DaveC wrote: 16 Jun 2023 13:10 It doesn't have a bad dma, I have another board that does. I can still test with an HC CPU.

Oh wow. That's what I'm seeing with my independently-built one on my STE.DaveC wrote: 16 Jun 2023 12:00 While using an STe, unfortunately when I try to write anything to the disk I get this error. GEMBench, Frontbench will all happily load at least.
I've never had DMA issues before, but haven't done the DMA pull-ups and I think I've an original CPU in there. I assumed it was my shoddy handiwork, but thse look to be the same symptoms so perhaps I need to get the STFM working to test there too.

Re: Raspberry PI PICO ATARI ST Hard Drive Emulator (WIP)
I will bring back one of the production drives sunday and do more testing to make sure nothing has changed since the previous revision. The board I was working on I could copy files backwards and forwards all day without any problems.
