Maybe one day I might even buy my own kit.
I'll get lots of pics when it comes so you can see what it's all about :)

Well, that was not quite what I was expecting. I had to pay an additional £55 import duties for the Altairduino!!

Be aware if you're ordering one, it isn't included in the price including shipping. Now also wondering if I will have duty to pay on the Yellowstone card as well :(

I expect that Brexit is part of the problem...

Is this coming from the 'States? If so then par for the course.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

It is but not a problem I've run into before, even post Brexit.

It depends upon whether the customs has picked your shipment to look at or not.

Some things from across the pond come unmolested but others (like my last Best Electronics shipment) get the duty and the processing charges added and VAT added on top of the total.

I guess we'll find out when my Yellowstone card comes. So far nothing about import duty, though I guess the Altairduino is very probably a lot larger and likely to draw attention.

OK, well the tracking for the Yellowstone card on Royal Mail looks a bit wonky...

Screenshot 2024-02-28 at 15.26.14.png

It's an item coming from the US, according to the Pirate Ship tracking website, it's working it's way around Bell in California.

What the heck has Switzerland got to do with it, it was never coming from there in the first place!
