What are the dimensions so I can look for a case? I will use a few bits of plexiglass to begin with.

Not possible to see from the angle of the photos but does the power supply connector go right to the PCB edge?

Pretty much yeah, might be 1mm inset but I have the previous board not a revised one, so might not be exactly the same.alexh wrote: 12 Jun 2023 21:31 Not possible to see from the angle of the photos but does the power supply connector go right to the PCB edge?

Cool. My first ST hard drive. Looking forward to this!
Looks like it will fit inside a cheapo project box as well - although it's first home will be cardboard and elastic bands

Sounds like a perfect opportunity for a kickstarter/crowdfunding... ;)chronicthehedgehog wrote: 13 Jun 2023 18:38 Cool. My first ST hard drive. Looking forward to this!

I did start doing a case design. Though currently it is up in the air if the board layout will change or not in the next revision . so there is no point at this point working on it at this point. I'm sure there is enough people with 3D printers to design one anyway.

I haz done a video of my board build:
Spoiler: it doesn't fully work yet. :-?
NB. This is the board I ordered back in December and is using the last published source before development went private. It has the same heritage, but is NOT the same as the Exxos model.

Interestingly you tweaked the PCB which I was talking to @dad664npc About doing that sort of style a couple weeks ago  He is not so keen on that and prefers a cable type drive, but in terms of cost, that's adding quite a bit to the final price which could otherwise be avoided.

Back in December when I was designing it he told me the same thing, so there's an optional IDC on there too! Belt and braces.
