rubber_jonnie wrote: 31 Aug 2023 13:00 I've never seen so many wires hanging off a Speccy :)

The biggest breadboard project I did was a latch card to sound chip on my ZX81. It was limited, but actually worked ok. All lost to the mists of time sadly...
:lol: and it almost worked.

I'd attached a raspi to the S7. Hand-coded a UART, circular FIFOs, CDC stuff etc in system verilog (because I didn't really understand AXI mainly). My first project was to allow various USB HIDs to be attached to the Spectrum via the PI but I couldn't figure out why I was getting two reads on my FIFO for every IORQ from the Spectrum.

I guess it was down to timing/constraints on the FPGA but that was way above my level of expertise and I never could find any info on it (beyond the 'hello world' type stuff). Shelved indefinitely but I can't bring myself to tear apart the breadboard - just in case I get the urge to do some Verilog ;)

It really attracts the dust :D
Wow, sounds like quite the project!!!

I can imagine dusting is quite an issue, perhaps a can of air?

@stephen_usher Just wondering if your DivMMC order is stuck at the processing stage?

Mine is...

As is my keyboard bezel for the Spectrum 48K, though that is coming from elsewhere.

I got a "shipped" e-mail over night.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Fingers crossed I'll get a mail today then, as I was a bit behind you, thanks.

Have either of you played Cosmic Payback on the Spectrum?

Really great homebrew from a couple of years ago if you want something new to play. Really fluid mechanics imo. I got really hooked but couldn't complete the last level.

I ordered my DivMMC with an SD card, with a bit of luck it may be on there. I will check when it arrives.
