Re: Something experimental - A5000 mouse ball replacement.
The vendor says he will change the advert to explicitly state they don't fit Archimedes Type 1 mice
I did find somewhere that sells what they consider to be 20mm rubber coated balls for $8 delivered as a sample
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 6076RVRtI7
But the tolerance appears to be +/- 0.5mm

@rubber_jonnie
A steel ball wrapped in the SUGRU would be just fine IMHO.

I tried to get a sample from AliBaba and it was not so easy. They say $8 for a sample, but when I asked them it suddenly became $36 for 2 balls.alexh wrote: 16 Jul 2024 12:17 The vendor says he will change the advert to explicitly state they don't fit Archimedes Type 1 mice

I'm very wary of them, especially with all the emails they send you.

The main issue is getting the ball spherical, not sure how easy that would be.HigashiJun wrote: 16 Jul 2024 12:18 @rubber_jonnie

I am clearing out a load of old PC stuff at work. I did check the 3 mice I am binning, but they were all 22mm balls.

Shame, 20mm seems to be unobtanium sadly.Higgy wrote: 16 Jul 2024 13:29 I am clearing out a load of old PC stuff at work. I did check the 3 mice I am binning, but they were all 22mm balls.
