Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
For those who couldn't see the photo before, sorry about the delay. Here it is again.
Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
Just need to find a HDMI cable now
Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
... and connect VSYNC
Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
Found a HDMI cable, only like a foot long
Connected Vsync... and nothing
Oddly my TV switches to EXT input (scart) even though I select HDMI from the menu

Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
There's a LED on the underside of the blue board, facing the DVI connector. You can see the LED's reflection in the connector. If it's steady red, it means the FPGA is picking up the expected 160256 cycles for each VSYNC. If it's flashing it means it isn't (which might mean the computer is doing something it shouldn't).
Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
Oh, and check orientation of the flat cable. edit: looks fine. Caught me out once though.
Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM
Its just staying red... my monitor screen flickers when I power on the ST, but does nothing else.. I will see if my multisync monitor has hdmi input...troed wrote: Thu Aug 30, 2018 6:08 pm There's a LED on the underside of the blue board, facing the DVI connector. Check HALT on your CPU as well if you get no picture on another screen as well. Steady red means the GLUE is doing it's job at least.exxos wrote: Thu Aug 30, 2018 6:17 pm Its just staying red... my monitor screen flickers when I power on the ST, but does nothing else..
