Just 4 screws to get access to this replaceable battery in a PS4 DualShock Controller.

Of course it's not quite as good as the externally replaceable batteries of the XBox controller, but I'll take it.

Just need to fix the charge port now.

Busy day today, managed to get the rear brake pads and disks replaced on my wife's car this morning, though it wasn't without some fun and games when the socket I needed to remove the brake calipers split on me and I had to dash to the nearest Halfords for a replacement.

All done before the rain started though :) (Just!!!)

Then it was on to fix the PS4 Dualshock controller with the bad USB port. Bit of a bargain for £8.99.

I had ordered a complete PCB and cable assembly, and just a replacement USB port on it's own as I really wanted to see how my micro soldering was coming on. Fine as it happens:

New socket soldered on and all working, plus I have a spare port just in case. The parts were about £5 all told, so in all honesty, buying both was worth it.

Controller works with the PS3, although as expected functionality is limited, but it's good enough to say it works.

Thanks.

I have a PS4 that I've been looking at too, but I think the APU needs a reflow or reball, so that one has run into a roadblock. Then there's the damn BlueSCSIs...

You'd be bored if there was nothing left to fix.

@terriblefire

I watched your presentation on the RMC channel over on YouTube last night (Legends in the Cave.) and it was really interesting and informative.

Thanks for you continued contributions to everything retro :)
