stephen_usher wrote: Wed Jul 12, 2023 9:42 pm Had another look at the telly. It seems I wired up the aerial connector incorrectly and soldered the outside of the coax to the TV ground. This was why the power switch wasn't working as that switches the GND connection and the BBC Master was connecting that and switching the TV on.

Also, the waviness on the display wasn't apparent if the computer was connected via the loop aerial connector. Hmm...

Fixed the first issue but I'm going to have to re-wire it again as there's a lot of interference causing it to wobble. I probably have the connections the wrong way around and need to use a bit of coax.

Anyway, I got the linearity fixed as well, so no recapping required.

I've put that on hold for a few days as I'm starting to think about getting thing ready for ECM in 5.5 weeks time. Tried out the "new" Jaguar controller and it's fine, so that system is all ready.

It is indeed!

I think this may be one of the systems I bring along to the show.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

I have the Retro HQ SD card solution for my Lynx II, excellent products IMHO. I'm pretty much all SD for my retro fleet these days, it's so much easier to work with.

Finally getting going with the BBC Hybrid Music System on the BBC.

Burnt ROMs for "Ample" and for the RetroClinic Datacentre and installed them into my Beeb. Unfortunately the Datacentre seems to be incompatible with the Music System. Still, it was interesting to play with it.

Anyway, put the music system floppy images onto a USB drive and into the Gotek. Getting somewhere!

Software loads and runs it seems, but I've yet to connect the amp and speakers.

At last I'm starting to make progress with the model railway project in the outbuilding, I've ordered pre-cut baseboard tops which should arrive on the 2nd August. I'll look at ordering the timber for the frame and legs from B&Q tonight for delivery on the 1st August (max two week delivery) unless I can find somewhere which will cut all the joinery grade timber before delivery.

I've ordered all the plywood tops now even though I'll not be able to build and set up more than four of the baseboards until I've dealt with the stuff I'll be bringing back from my dad's house over the Summer/Autumn.

I think that I'll wait until version 11 of the rebranded Twitter. It should be stable by then.

Glad I'm not the only one who found the logo to be too-near-identical to that one.

A reasonably productive morning this morning.

Not only binding all the rest of the "Your Computer" magazines ready to donate them to the RMC Cave but bought shelving for the outbuilding and unpacking the model railway baseboard tops which arrived.

This afternoon will be shelf installation.
