But just as a side-note, during my searches, I found someone with a CT60 who was having similar issues, but exxos clock patch fixed it for them: https://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=305558PATCHS
Some software need a patch or to be replaced by a patched version. It is the case with Cubase Audio that needs a patch present in the software package.

@Badwolf @exxos reading the ct63 info page, it seems Cubase Audio did not natively work even with a CT60, it required a patch: https://mikrosk.github.io/ct60tos/CT60/ ... ting63.htm

Re: Falcon + CUBASE AUDIO + SCSI - Experiences?
I had forgotten all about that , I thought it was more down to a 060 compatibility problem at the time. :shrug:Steve wrote: 18 Sep 2025 16:28 @Badwolf @exxos reading the ct63 info page, it seems Cubase Audio did not natively work even with a CT60, it required a patch: https://mikrosk.github.io/ct60tos/CT60/ ... ting63.htm
I know Czuba had odd issues as I talked to him a few weeks ago about clock patches.
Seems like he didn't actually reply saying that though ?But just as a side-note, during my searches, I found someone with a CT60 who was having similar issues, but exxos clock patch fixed it for them: https://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=305558
But guys, please also understand that this is happening on the stock machine..

The only reason it works is because of the V3 delay.
Also inverting and non-inverting buffers have been tried. The V4 was non-inverting. So that alone doesn't even fix the issues.
Its like it needs a quarter time period skew and zero or 180 degree skew doesn't work.
Which is why I suggest we concentrate on figuring that problem out first. Boosters are just complicating matters at this point.

Re: Falcon + CUBASE AUDIO + SCSI - Experiences?
@whomper I suggest reconnecting up the V3 as normal. Remove DFB1X. Let's keep things simple.
Video delay on and delay off for us to see and hear the issues.
I also suggest make a backup of your SCSI card. Then copy all the files you can to a new folder, do this many times until you fill up a lot of the card. Then try running programs in those new folders and see if anything gets corrupted.
I'm not sure of any SCSI hard drive test programs. But lets make sure this isn't a SCSI hardware problem first.
Also relating to SCSI, tests should also be done with delay on and delay off. Then we can see if this changes anything relating to SCSI access first.
Also test the DMA2DSP programs with delay on and off and see if any issues show there.
I don't think it was mentioned what hard disk driver your are actually using either ?
Isn't there any official Cubase programs to test SCSI stability ?

BTW what bluescsi do you have exactly ? Maybe I should buy one and do some tests here myself also.

I was given some modern SCSI replacement device recently but haven't had time to try it yet (with anything, let alone the Falcon) but as with the other stuff, I can loan it to you for your investigation?
I'll dig it out and post some details as soon as I can (find it)...
Edit: it's a BlueSCSI...

Re: Falcon + CUBASE AUDIO + SCSI - Experiences?
I was thinking of testing the exact same one as @whomper has in case its some fault with the SCSI drive itself.JezC wrote: 18 Sep 2025 18:08 I was given some modern SCSI replacement device recently but haven't had time to try it yet (with anything, let alone the Falcon) but as with the other stuff, I can loan it to you for your investigation?
I do have a spinning rust SCSI drive that I used in the 90s which I think still works, but with it being a slower drive, it may not be a fair test.
Edit:
Seems its not a normal hard drive and only uses images. It kinda adds another layer of complication in doing that.
I could install cubase on my old SCSI drive if there's a "dongle free" version.
But I have no idea how to use cubase or what @whomper is even loading.

Re: Falcon + CUBASE AUDIO + SCSI - Experiences?
Started afresh with a V3 and no delay.
Auto folder -
Enabled - NVDI, WDIALOG, MACCEL (mouse acceleration).
Disabled - ALTRAMFX (needed for TTRAM an HDUtils), BLOWBOOT, MAPROM_C
Phase 1 - Stock Falcon
Cubase audio works ok. So strange, this did not work for me before!
Phase 2 - DFB1X DISABLED mode
Cubase audio works ok.
Phase 3 - DFB1X OPTION mode
Major instabilities

Re: Falcon + CUBASE AUDIO + SCSI - Experiences?
I have the bluescsi external. At first it did not work and I went into Manuy cycles of testing with HRDriver only to finally figure out that a trace was cut when breaking the board from at the cutoff line from the other boards. If you do purchase one, please keep an eye on the top trace that should be intact....exxos wrote: 18 Sep 2025 17:56 BTW what bluescsi do you have exactly ? I connect it via a small adapter and I also used a longer cable which works as well.

Re: Falcon + CUBASE AUDIO + SCSI - Experiences?
I can send you my audio tracks so that you can replay it exactly. the bluescsi used an interesting images concept where you create 1GB images and then bluescsi reports it as separate drives to HDDriver. In my 16GB SD card I have 6 1GB (or 970MB) images sequenced using file names to denote SCSI ID 0-5. I have purchased IOMega SCSI Jaz that is waiting to be used as ID 6 and ID7 is the controller.exxos wrote: 18 Sep 2025 18:11 Seems its not a normal hard drive and only uses images.
