Any usb keyboard non-ps/2 or ps/2 can go through the github project adapter. That's what I am looking for at the end of the day. Thanks for all the help guys. Appreciate it.
Yeah, that's all it is, as long as you got there in the end :)

@TheNameOfTheGame ,

There's also HIDMan:

And the smaller HIDMan-mini/micro fork:

The Hidman solution looks good but I would have to get an assembled PCB and I assume there is a minimum other quantity from PCBway.

I've never looked into PCBway ordering before.

If I understand correctly I can order 5 Hidman pcbs with one of them assembled and the total is $34 which seems cheap. Unless I'm doing something wrong.

I can 3D print the front and back panels and maybe the case as well.

Any PcbWay experts around ?

https://www.pcbway.com/project/sharepro ... fb5d5.html

I selected PCB+assembly and click Add to cart.

It offers a lot of PCB options which I've not changed apart from adding a quantity of 1.

I click Calculate and it shows the price. I think this is for one assembled and 4 or 5 blank pcbs.

Is that it ? Have I missed anything ?

I usually don't use PCBway so I'm no expert but I did order 5 fully assembled HIDman in February. I can't remember but PCB is most often done in increments of 5. So 5 PCB is the smallest order you can do. Then how many you populate with components is up to you. I did 1,6mm thick (standard) and in black.

It takes a while. 1-1,5 month. You will also get a quotation back for prices of each components. I got also got a mail stated that two pads was to small to get solder mask in between the pads on the 559 chip. They where not used so didn't matter anyway. But since all pads is the same it's quite odd when you get those mail back. Just answer "it's fine, please proceed".

Front and back panels is also PCB and I ordered mine from JLCPCB in black, 1mm thick but you can use PCBWay for that as well. The 3-color-LED shine through in one part of the panel that is not coated on the back. Also remember to order screws. The ones listed was to small for the 3D print I did for some reason. But I ordered the case in black resin from JLCPCB. So I ordered M3,5 screws and a 3,5 tap. But the original is probably fine if you use the aluminium. Also the 3D file I downloaded for the case was 80mm long instead of the 40 that is the desired length. So I had to cut it with a hacksaw/dremel when I got the surprise when I opened the package.
