Yet another Ebay fee...

I find it all very misleading, they put out this advertising campaign how it is now 'free to sell on ebay'. It's always been free for me to sell on ebay, since forever. They only used to charge listing fees for certain types of item/amount/perks. So people are thinking 'OH perhaps they're not taking the 10% final value fee anymore', which is not the case, they still take the final value fee.

I think it's disgusting behavior from ebay, just imagine what 10% of all items sold on ebay is... it must be BILLIONS in profit! Why on earth they need to squeeze even more out I don't know. They literally make profit for free, off the backs of others peoples work.

They are getting squeezed by others in the market space, so the big profits are likely not there so they need to push every angle to make the money come from some where. Like you say, thieves.
Vinted is all the rage for clothing now, so no-one uses ebay.
Facepalm Marketplace is also very popular for general localised selling, so eBay are feeling it.

Although competition is meant to push you to make a more competitive product, not a less competitive one!
