Okay, well...I guess that's good news, right?

I'm trying to remember if it was doing this before I switched the Pak TOS ROMs. I don't think it was.

The ROM's I was using were coded for 50hz so it kept booting up pretty much in PAL mode. Holger
Zimmerman was nice enough to send me a new set of ROM files coded for 60hz and that seemed
to take care of that problem - but now I'm wondering.

I guess I'll have to break down and switch the old ROM's back out and see if it's still doing it.

Thanks.

I'm not sure how the RGB2HDMI is wired up.

Christian has a good write up here:- https://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.p ... 91#p378891

The good news is the fix is probably very easy if it's this.

BW
I honestly don't know. I'm not using anything SCART related, AFAIK.

So it's basically:

STacy SHIFTER chip --> RGB2HDMI mod --> LCD panel

3 wires come off of the RGB2HDMI mod; VSYNC, HSYNC, and BLANK.

I'll attach a picture to show that.

Thanks.

You would be prudent to open up a Github issue on their site: https://github.com/hoglet67/RGBtoHDMI/issues

It is less likely anything physical / electrical, but more firmware related. Like I say, I have 3x RGBtoHDMI'd Atari's and they all flicker / synchronize just like yours when they first turn on. I'm personally not bothered by it at all, but I can understand how it happening on a laptop might be a little annoying.

They can probably enable a debug mode and perhaps you can send them a log of some sort.

Edit: I see you've been there in the past, talking about the pallet issue: https://github.com/hoglet67/RGBtoHDMI/issues/400
You should probably close that with a comment around the solution.

Oh, just wanted to update this a bit - I upgraded the RGB2HDMI mod to the latest version (beta66.zip),
and while it didn't completely do away with that initial power-on "flicker", it seems like it's made it
sync up a lot faster. So the flicker goes away much quicker and just doesn't seem to do it nearly as often
now.

This version also adds the HDMI audio out support for the new board.
