The Chinese will be producing or selling them recycled for a long time to come :)
We will have to find other chips for projects. As long as there are sources available (vhdl, verilog or equations) we can always use whatever fits. At the most, the time will come to design PCBs for BGA chips. It can be a bit annoying, but it can be done.

That's likely true yes, but I'm sure a lot of people here will tell horror stories of using such chips from China already. Buying used through-hole parts is difficult and time consuming enough to test. Not so simple with SMT devices. I wouldn't ever trust them even if they worked.tOriman wrote: 19 Apr 2024 20:33 The Chinese will be producing or selling them recycled for a long time to come :)

I often bought in China used Xilinx chips cheaply. Those were always working :D But yes - you can't trust such sources....

Re: XC95144XL & XC95288XL obsolete
Considering the price of chips from mouser for the XC95144XL-10TQ144C is heading to the £30 mark and they have very few left it seems, and I really don't have the time or the patience to take gambles on China used chips...
I have actually found a source for legitimate new chips for about £20 each if anyone wants to bulk buy of like 50 chips or more. I will be buying some chips for myself, maybe a small quantity my store also.
So if anyone is interested in a bulk buy, then I need to know immediately because I want to do the order before the stock disappears.
