In STf there is no option to keep the shielding in place... at least not without cutting a big hole in it.
My card has a Harris-branded 80C286 CPU in it. It is a CMOS/low-power version.

interesting. i've a 520 ste and managed just to keep the shielding in place. maybe the original at-once is slightly shallower. i know my board fits directly into the ste cpu socket, what i cant recall if there is another socket that does some conversion. i dont believe there was one.
i fired it up a 2 years ago and all still worked, including at-once. the only thing that had gone south in the 15years it had spent idle was an external floppy i couldn't seem to fix. still have it but looking around for one.
