TF1230 and 3Com PCMCIA Ethernet

Can I briefly ask that for those that have OS3.2 with PCMCIA network cards (wired or wireless) what TCP software they're running?

I'm using Genesis.

They did something in KS3.1.4 (module card.resource?) in an attempt to allow 8MB RAM and PCMCIA at the same time with 24-bit processors.

Anyone who has ever tried with KS3.1 knows that with a 24-bit processor (68000, 68010, EC020 or EC030) you cannot use PCMCIA if you have 8MB FastRAM. If you want to use PCMCIA you have to limit to 4MB. Because the PCMCIA memory space is mapped to the same address as the upper 4MB.

BUT PCMCIA NIC and IDE adapters don't actually need the RAM space after they are configured.

They did something to card.resource in KS3.1.4 and lots of people moaned about it. I don't know the exact details.

I used AmiTCP 3.0b2 on 3.2 then 3.2.1 with a WiFi card for a while without any problems.

AmiTCP is ancient, and personally I could never get DHCP to work on it, but I haven't any issues with Roadshow.

Lkewise I use Roadshow. The time limited demo is enough to work out if it will work for you and its really not that expensive for such a good product.

It doesn't support DHCP at all. I used AmiTCP because I hadn't really used an Amiga in years other than a bit of messing with WinUAE and wanted a challenge to remind me how to do things in AmigaOS, I created a script to Connect and disconnect from an icon on workbench too.

I did it once, then I bought Roadshow :P

I use Roadshow with a TF1260. Works well with a Prism2 card (Netgear MA401) and the 3Com card (3C589D-TP).

What's wonky for me is the 1200s CF card reader. I can't get a card working reliably to save my life. And I've got 10 different cards here to test with.

I have had a reply on EAB from somebody who has tried a 3Com card with a TF1230 and it's working fine for them.

Their motherboard is a 2B, mine is 1D.4 both with timing fixes of some sort, theirs seem based on what's recommended for an Apollo1230 and mine were done by RetroPassion and I think are based on what's required for ACA cards.

They are, I think using 3.1 ROMs, I have 3.2. I have asked for confirmation and for what model of 3Com card they are using

Other than a random fault with my A1200 that only shows it's self when I try to connect to a network with a 3Com card while the TF1230 is installed, the only other thing I can think of is that my TF1230 has a 33mhz rated CPU, maybe the 3Com driver forces it to do something it's not stable doing. it seems stable based on everything else I have thrown at it in the last 15 months.

Other thing to compare notes on is the PCMCIA reset setup?
