@exxos
Hi exxos, i read some of your comments here on the forum, about the quality of the capacitors that can be found on the internet. I bought mine from the shop near my home, but I honestly can't be sure of their quality, so I was thinking of getting them from you. I had problems when I put the new ones; but in your opinion is it possible that once you put them all new, ascertained that perhaps it was better before, then changed again with the original ones, my STacy doesn't go back to how it was before? consider that the DC/DC voltage had a problem even before the change of the capacitors. please re-read my last post, I corrected it.
Turning on STacy only 2 times out of 10 does it start.

I'm afraid I don't sell kits for Stacy. I have never even seen one let alone tested out power supply replacement parts.Roberto wrote: 09 Dec 2022 15:38 Hi exxos, i read some of your comments here on the forum, about the quality of the capacitors that can be found on the internet. If you went from it generally working, to not working when fitting the new capacitors, then changing back to the old ones and still not working, it sounds more like you have damaged a track on the PCB somewhere IMO.Roberto wrote: 09 Dec 2022 15:38 I had problems when I put the new ones; but in your opinion is it possible that once you put them all new, ascertained that perhaps it was better before, then changed again with the original ones, my STacy doesn't go back to how it was before? consider that the DC/DC voltage had a problem even before the change of the capacitors. please re-read my last post, I corrected it.
You will have to trace back the 12V rail and see at what point the voltage reappears again.

It was a resistance, and exactly the one marked with the red arrow. Now I can hear the sound well, plug in the diagnostic cartridge and plug in the original LCD screen. I now have my STacy exactly as it was when I brought it home the first day! I have a horizontal line on the screen (it was there before), but I read that I could try warming the contact area in the back edge of the screen with a hair dryer....that will be the next step. I hope I can be as helpful in this forum as you have been to me!

Great. What exactly was the part with the red arrow though ?

Congratulations! :)
PS The hair dryer trick for those gel like connections on the screen
is good, sometimes you can sort of "knead" it by pressing down
along the outside edges and that will work as well.

it was the R112 resistor. actually it was enough for me to follow your advice, that is to go along the voltage line and see where it was interrupted ;)

So resistance was high ? Looks to be the current sense resistor. So would be near zero ohms normally.

Yes, it was high, I don't remember the exact value but probably so high that it didn't let anything through. However, I have found that, while without an LCD attached the stacy is always accessed, when instead I connect the LCD, sometimes it is accessed and sometimes not (or rather, it is accessed but the CPU remains in HALT). I changed the capacitorsexxos wrote: 17 Dec 2022 15:09 So resistance was high ? Looks to be the current sense resistor. So would be near zero ohms normally.

Thanks Darklord, but unfortunately I didn't succeed.. indeed, it seems that this STacy wants to test my patience. Now, when I put the brightness wheel on and as I try to increase the brightness, I hear an increasingly pronounced whistling coming from the adjustment trimmer area (I think it is precisely the brightness trimmer), and what little brightness it had the display, now it's completely vanished... I think I've made another mess!Darklord wrote: 15 Dec 2022 21:51 And another warrior rejoins the fray...

@Darklord I have read several of your notes regarding the work you have done on your STacy. You should know that currently, my Stacy emits a whistle, which is pronounced, as soon as I operate the backlight. I also removed the display shield to be able to heat the display better and to facilitate the work to press in the points where I hope to fix that horizontal line. I read in one of your posts that that ground wire MUST be plugged in and operational.... well... now that I think about it, could it be the fault of that wire that I didn't plug in? It occurred to me at this exact instant!
