Some solder joints needed reflow on the adapter if I remember correctly. Anyway the ACSI-SCSI card and SCSI2SD were too much of a hassle and I ended up installing an internal Ultrasatan in one of the Mega STE and an internal ACSI2SD in the other.

Thanks Olivier. Mine is slightly different as I have a couple of adapter/controllers and none of them work with my 2 disks (when they did), so will have a closer inspection at the motherboard pins.
