Bought one of these about a year ago from amigastore.eu - just tried to install it and of course it's garbage. The Y axis is upside down and it tracks like a drunken sailor. Theres no documentation on how to install all the bits, and once you do figure it out the button 'spacers' need to be milled down b/c it mashes the buttons down when fully assembled. The thing they provided to hold the laser lens is made out of some sort of sticky rubber and barely fits the opening on the bottom of the mouse.

All in all it's an awful product. The Amiga mouse boards they sell however work fine. Must not be from the same supplier - but they don't mention that.

The guy who originally created these laser board upgrades still has them listed on his site:

https://www.lavago.de/stm-1-laser-board.html

Looks like these are the same as the ones sold through the amigastore.eu site.

I bought some from the lavago.de seller back in 2018 and if I remember correctly, they were only designed to fit certain models of the STM1 mice cases with others needing modifications to make the board fit. This explains why some STM1 cases have buttons that are too close. The height of the laser board PCB inside the mouse housing also impacts the optical tracking, so if too high it jitters and has erratic movement. There were also 3 different connector on the PCB for 3 different pin-out options. The kit I received back in 2018 also had an small aluminum rod to cut to length for mouse buttons but I ended up using a plastic option.

- Serial number beginning with "A": should be compatible
- Serial number beginning with "P": should be compatible

Other serial numbers such as those beginning with "X" will likely not be compatible or need modifications for the board to fit correctly.

I received 2 PDF files and 3D STL files with the boards I purchased which don't look to be provided now:
Laser Board Manual connection 2018.pdf
Manual Laser Board for ATARI Mouse 2018.pdf
I found this PDF as well:
Atari Laser Mouseboard.pdf
I never really used this STM1 laser mouse after I assembled it as I have other options such as SmallierMouse2 and modern USB mouse.
