Top de-solder gun tip - keep the suction going for a second after you have removed the solder and taken the hot nozzle off the chip. If you stop suction too soon the solder won't make it all the way into the glass container then you'll be trying to clear it.

I purchased the hako gun about a year ago with a healthy skepticism of the vacuum pump located in the gun but it had great reviews. Sure enough it works great and you don't need to listen to the vacuum pump droning away while you work. After desoldering the 68k you can basically just lift it out.
I have done a lot of 68k's with wick successfully but if you do it this way don't try to save the 68k, just clip all the leads off the body first and remove one lead at a time from the board. Just takes a little patience and you should be successful if you have some soldering experience.
