Something like this would be articulated enough move where youd need it on any desk:

I've ordered one of these, they seem relatively small, so for £10.99 it's all good. Will report back when it arrives.

That mic holder is perfect! (Unlike my photography!)

That is excellent. I think you've just invented a must-have electronics tool.

To be fair @PaulJ_2.0 deserves the credit for the microphone holder suggestion, but my microscope was made for it, slotted right in :)

Was a good call on your part. It needs a slight tweak to the mic holder but overall for £10.99 I can't complain 😁

I have one of these magnifiers but sometimes I need to revert to pure optics.

Have had a short on one of my boards for the past week and pouring all over the board with the magnifier and for the life of me I have not been able to find the cause of the short.

Reverting to a pair of watch repair lenses I managed to find the issue. The short was buried behind the FPGA pins tight up against the FPGA package.

I swear by these as a backup to the magnifier even if I do look ridiculous in them :)

Also look at IKEA - they have a cheap desktop lamp with an arm that may be even cheaper than the microphone stand.
