So IC2 has failed again ?

PM your address and I will send you a different booster to try (and you return the first one for me to diagnose if it fixes the problem) . I don't know any reason why that would fail. Even so they are all tested for some hours before they are put into my store.

It seems so but this time it has not burned.

I am concerned that my Atari has no video on the way out, there is no black screen.

Is it possible that something else is damaged?

What Can I do to test the GLUE, MMU, Video is not damaged? I have a poor knowledge of Atari hardware.

I'm going to sweat blood to desolder the Booster, the ground pins are a hell :)

Can I desolder the Booster by upper face? I think it is more easy

Thanks a lot

ST's are normally in a really bad shape with black screen, you likely get a white screen? which is good...

If you desolder from the top then it may get damaged , and if there is a problem with the booster, I need to be able to retest it.

I can only suggest you contact @Steve who can give your machine a test and service, as he is in the UK ( I don't know if you are) he can get parts easily from me as I am also in the UK.

Alternatively, get a different STE motherboard as we don't know if something on your board is killing the booster or not either.

I dont get any color screen, my monitor LCD goes to sleep mode(no video signal detected)

Well, I will desolder from the down side.

Im from Spain... My best option if the mainboard is faulty and I dont find the fail is purchase anothe one.

Thanks!

Hello People!

I have news:

Yesterday I did more tests, and I found two faults, the IC2 is damaged, and the mc68000 too  , maybe a voltage spike from the power source damages the 68000 and the same time the IC2.

But I just change ic2 and probably the mc68000 caused ic2 to get damaged again

The thing is that today I changed the mc68000 (Luckily I bought one for spare), and once again the IC2:

And now I have clock signal in the out of IC2:

I power on the Atari and TOS is booting now:

But when I enable the Blitter:

TOS system crashes

Some help is welcome...

You also have Parity RAM in there 9 chips ? So you need to remove the Parity chip.
