I know where the improvements are from the Gembench results but what actual applications will be the most noticeable?

Will POV Raytrace be quicker for example? And what about games?
For 3d and I suppose calculation heavy software like POV, there was a definite performance boost because the CPU was able to perform those calculations faster.
However if you look at the SF2 comparison, you can see there is not much to be gained if you're running a 2d beat 'em up.
Gembench took about half the time to run and the stats at the end are pretty clear. Everything is going faster apart from RAM access, which remains firmly set at 100%.
There are gains to be had, but don't expect RAM to work any faster.
