Found some time this weekend to do some work on the board. Did the smt components.

By the way. Has anyone solder on the 19pin d-sub connector? My foxconn connector I got from my donor board will not fit. The two earth/relieve holes is to far back on the board for the connector.

How its looking, there may well be 2 types of connector, but its not been confirmed yet. The holes match up exactly as per my STFM, so it can only be different connectors.

I see. Mine is like the holes for both the 25pin connectors. In the middle of the pins so to speak. To bad I can't drill/move the holes in the board. Maybe doing oval holes on the next batch/board?

Just put mine on last night so I could use the DMA test board. The leads wanted to pull the connector to far back into the board.. I put the leads in the holes, forced the connector into the proper alignment and set the screws and then soldered. Alignment is fine now but the connector wanted to sit too far in. :) :) :)

Haven't tried to force anything, just dry fitting some components to see if the alignment was good and notice that. But the 19 pins is pretty long so maybe they can stretch to make it fit.

Yup, it will fit actually when doing that. Thanks for the tip. But now I see that the two 25pin connectors don't have solder masks on the board for the two relieve holes. Hmm, or the 13pin connector for the monitor or midi in and out.

Really doesn't matter, their plated through holes, All you need is to fill the hole with solder with the pin inside. Its not like your going to drag solder the connections.

It's odd because I remember the holes didnt align ,so I moved them to make them fit. so I must have 2 variants of connectors here as well somewhere which confuses things.

Maybe if someone has one which doesn't fit ad not using it they can send it me to figure out.

@exxos the serial and parallel connectors I purchase from you fit perfectly. The 19 pin I reused from a donor board were off about an 1/8 of an inch.

I did measure the points from the connectors I have in my store.. Thing is though, Icky sent me a blank STFM board, and I printed out the holes and checked it against that board as well.

What board did you use a a doner machine exactly ?
