Good morning exxos.. personally what you have is fine by me. There's no internal DMA port so beyond the Gotek I have no need for additional power. If you had added the additional power ports I just wasn't going to populate them.

That reminds me I want to add the internal DMA port like the mega has..

I want to add proper ports and fixings for the internal ultrasatan as well. I'm hoping it will fit under the floppy drive.. I need to look into it more...

The mongrol was supposed to have smt MMU & glue , but that's going to hold things up to much .

There's more things to add yet anyway. Its not just a fixed alpha, its the next design.

Ah. That’s actually a good point exxos. If there was a DMA header port then there may not be a need for the extra power sockets. My usage of a power connector extension currently is for powering the floppy and a gigafile. So the header would cover it.

I will add more power headers, no harm.

I'm thinking where the RF port was, using that hole for a DC power jack to power external drives like US/giga etc.

I wanted to take a minute to give you a thumbs up on the power supply design. I ran the mega 4 all day yesterday with bench 6 with the case on. After running all day you couldn't feel any hot spots on the case after 8 hrs of running. That was not true of the atari supply. Your supply really runs cool and it did clear up some screen artifacts that were there with the atari supply. :bravo: :bravo:

Assume you mean the red PSU ? Probably the transformer runs the hottest overall I think.

Yes, its the red one. And yes the transformer gets barely warm to the touch but that's it..

Yeah 1-2amps load the transformer remains pretty cool. Through 3-4amps the temp goes up, can actually hit like 70c. Technically the transformer is twice the VA it needs to be, but I did that because I didn't want the transformer running hot in normal usage.

I personally dislike the whole idea of STF remake, but I guess adding an ATX connector (possibly with angular header) to use pico-PSU modules would be a very useful solution. Power output connectors on motherboard are obsolete then, as Pico-PSU has a cable to connect FDD power.
