Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.
Hard to believe that bottom left pin is the same pin. My dad gifted me with some pliers that look like a war veteran. They've come in handy a lot.
My pics keep getting rotated which is a little confusing.
Wish I could have centered them (the pins) a little better but could've ended worse.

It's not natural to bend pins back and not have them break!
As for rotated pics, there was a post about it that sort of thing a while back viewtopic.php?f=13&t=559

I was expecting it to snap and was resigned to it. Got the 'curl' out of it by putting a small electrician's screwdriver inside the 'loop' and slowly unfurled it which left a kink, which I then slowly flattened with my beefy pliers.exxos wrote: 14 Jun 2022 23:17 Its not natural to bend pins back and not have them break!

Will have a look at that when I can breath again.

Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.
I already re-crimped that @Steve This is what it looked like newly opened like I was telling you. Warranty seal over the screw was intact when I got the machine but for some reason the floppy cable was like that and eventually broke giving a TOS #35 ERROR. All good now.Steve wrote: 14 Jun 2022 21:57 There's supposed to be a plastic clip covering that floppy connector, perhaps it has fallen off while being unplugged?
Don't worry you can re-crimp it without specialist tools if you find it.

Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.
God, when I switched my Atari on again the screen was cyan, but this went when I switched the VGA switch to colour and then back to monochrome when the desktop had loaded and all was fine. Relief!
Whilst testing everything, I noticed something quite quickly. My Atari no longer minds what the printer is doing. It used to fail to start if the printer was switched on.
I have noticed that loading the standard monochrome desktop in TOS 1.04 has colour in there:
Anyone any ideas on this?

Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.
Not sure what colour as looks OK ? Mono output is a single pin on the shifter which gets fed to the RGB lines via a ST2VGA adapter normally. So there is simply no colour signal even being generated.Cosmic Puppet wrote: 15 Jun 2022 01:50 I have noticed that loading the standard monochrome desktop in TOS 1.04 has colour in there:

Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.
When I first powered on the Atari after the DMA switch it looked like this:
Then when I switched my VGA to colour and then back to monochrome it went away.
Later I noticed that the monochrome desktop now has a similar colour to this in it.
