4 x IDE devices on TF536 Possible ?

Post by ADRRichard »

Seeing as the IDE on the TF536 is pretty much derived from the a1200/600, would it be possible to run 4 devices with a a1200 4 way IDE interface & IDEfix97 software ?

I don't have a 4 way IDE buffer to try, but I'm looking for the cheapest option of adding a 3rd IDE device 20 my A2000

I have no idea. I've never used more than one device on the TF ide interfaces. In the modern world of 128Gb disks i dont see the point in more than 2 anyways. A CD and a CF card.

I had two devices running flawlessly, a CD rom and a 32GB CF card but then I wanted an easier (simplistic) way of transferring data between my PC and Amiga so I ditched the CDROM and added a second 8GB CF card mounted that as FAT32. Now I can just plug the FAT32 CF into the PC and copy my files onto it ( I know it's possible to remove the system CF from my 2000 and load up WINUAE and transfer that way ).

As long as there is no known restrictions in the TF firmware then I think I'll certainly give it a go, that way I could keep the CD ROM up and running :)

There are no "known" issues but its completely untested and if it doesnt work its not something i would support.
