Wanted STE motherboard

Post by SophieRose »

My STE has the high pitched background noise problem and is quite prominent so I'm after a motherboard that doesn't exhibit this if anyone has one.

Have you had a look at this: https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/atari/last/ ... /index.htm?

I don't think @exxos has them in store any more (I did have a quick look, and I'm sure they used to be there) but it may be something you can replicate with discrete components.

It's usually caused by bad power supplies. Just wondering if you've tried another, or getting one re-capped?

PSU can be bad or do you mean audio ? It's a common problem on STEs. My DAC fix PCB is in the PCB forum now.
