Re: Bikerbob's H5 C1 build
@Bikerbob yes you could solder the decoder directly into socket two but do check the clearances underneath and for heat dissipation purposes. I'd solder the top socket on first though and give it a good test in the first socket.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

Personally I wouldn’t solder these in as at a later stage you may want to replace with another board or it may need to be removed to allow another board to work in the H5. To me it looks fine how it is :)

Re: Bikerbob's H5 C1 build
Thanks guys.. I have been looking but so far have not found a guide to the all the jumpers on the board.
Also I remember there being pin headers listed in the BOM.. but I dont see where I need to add them?
So.. I must be missing a thread that explains this??
Thanks
James

@Bikerbob - here is a guide to the jumpers.
https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =89&t=3563
It’s for the H5A3 but its almost the same on the H5C1

Saw this in another build https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =20#p68565
So this bridge needs to be made even if you are not using the 3v expansion?

Re: Bikerbob's H5 C1 build
OK, link made and pin on white bar cut for the keyboard connector.
Outside of getting my ram, I honestly cannot think of anything I need to do for a basic boot.
I have a cloudy, lightning and storm. This would give me IDE/USB/8mb ALT ram and RTC .. now I won't use the cloudy because I have the decoder and the dual tos on the board.
I will use cloudy in another machine.
Does this work? anyone done this?
Thanks
James

Re: Bikerbob's H5 C1 build
@Bikerbob as long as you have everything else right and the rom ce line jumpered to right hand pin J13?
It is much more predictable to try and diagnose with a tos1.04 rom in the board thought as you're then only focusing on internal, not external equipment.
