Re: TF1230 Beta Interest (Open Source)
lets start with a simple experiment. If you remove all drives do you get a KS screen with TF1230 and KS3.1?

With no drive connected on a 1D.4 I get the black screen flicking to very dark grey boot loop.
The 3.1 roms are genuine MX chips pulled from another 1200 for this test.
* No KS screen is shown, just settles on very dark grey eventually **

Same pattern for all three test cards I have here. Unplugged and re-seated a few times to eliminate that, during one test a purple/pink screen was shown after about 20 seconds, but that wasn't repeatable after a re-seat of the card. All cards running genuine RC50C CPUs
Re: TF1230 Beta Interest (Open Source)
Interestingly I get different behaviour with different power supplies. Previous tests with two different supplies gave the same results. This evening I picked another unit from the collection.
A light type A1200 original supply model 391029-02 which gives a mustard screen on power up. Changing back to a heavy type A500 supply gives the grey to black loop. Swapped across a few times and gives the same behaviour in each case.
** Edit, the behaviour is not consistent!
Now that the light PSU has been plugged in for about 10mins it gives the same grey to back boot loop on power on.. **

had no chance to test them on KS3.2 yet,
if it turns out to work on 3.2 then this may be ide or PCMCIA related, right?

Re: TF1230 Beta Interest (Open Source)
Just managed to test 3.0 roms ..and still no joy, does no boot
Looking at the Big book of Amiga Hardware it says there were two versions of the `Budgie` Chip, Rev 0 & Rev A, mine is rev 0
I mention it because it says the Budgie handles the DRAM and Bus controller and also the Trap door expansion slot
So can the ones with the Working 1D4 mobo check which version of `Budgie` they have

I don't think this is the cause I have Budgie rev0 on 1D and 2B boardssupaduper wrote: Sun Aug 29, 2021 2:36 pm Just managed to test 3.0 roms ..and still no joy, does no boot

Boards 2B working perfect but 1D only on kick 3.2

Yes I understand, but you do have a Rev 0 on the 1D4 same as me, and no bootkulamario wrote: Sun Aug 29, 2021 2:48 pmI don't think this is the cause I have Budgie rev0 on 1D and 2B boardssupaduper wrote: Sun Aug 29, 2021 2:36 pm Just managed to test 3.0 roms ..and still no joy, does no boot
